HILARY ZALLA
Reporter / Anchor
I have been told by friends when I first meet a person, it seems like I am interviewing them. Well, what can I say, I love to ask questions! I have a passion for getting to know people- who they are, where they are from, and what is important to them. This is where my love for reporting comes from. It gives me the chance to meet all kinds of people, in all different situations, from all sorts of different areas.
Growing up in the Northern Kentucky/Cincinnati, Ohio area, I come from a family of seven siblings- six sisters and one brother. I graduated from Xavier University with a degree in Electronic Media where I reported for Xavier University Television. I also worked at New York One News in New York City where I interviewed residents on a variety of important issues. Right before I came to KMOT, I worked for WKEF/WRGT-TV in Dayton, Ohio where I studied under numerous reporters and producers. I enjoy covering everything from politics and education to weather events and human interest.
I am very eager to get to know the Minot community and learn about what makes this city magical! I will be covering the education beat, what issues affect students, parents, teachers, and school districts as a whole. I also look forward to joining you in your homes week nights at 6pm for the Evening Report. Please feel free to email or call me with any issues or story ideas that are important to you! hzalla@kmot.com
In my free time, I enjoy running outside, hanging out with my sisters, and traveling when I get the chance. I look forward to adding cross country skiing to this list now that I live in Minot!
