I was born and raised in Bradenton, Florida (about 45 minutes south of Tampa.) Throughout high school, I participated in the cross country and track programs.
My senior year of high school when I went on recruiting visits, I realized I had to decide what it was that I wanted to major in.
I always had dreams of being on camera, so I decided that I had to get more realistic. I idolized Katie Couric growing up and knew that was my calling in life.
I chose Florida Atlantic University where I received a scholarship to participate in the Cross Country and Track Programs.
As I sat with my academic advisor, Keva Anderson, she told me that I would have to declare undecided for my major. I looked her in the eyes, and told her ‘No, I am going to be a reporter. I will not be changing my major.”
While in college, I interned at NBC6 in Miami for the Sports department and interned in the Investigative Unit at News Channel 5, the NBC affiliate in West Palm Beach.
I graduated in May from Florida Atlantic University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Multimedia Journalism.
I am so excited to be starting out my journalism journey in Minot and at KMOT. It is a bit of a change from Florida by just a few degrees and a bit of a distance from all my family that resides still in Bradenton.
I love the town of Minot. I love the people that I have met and hope to meet many more.
While I am not reporting news, I love to run, watch movies, talk to my family in Bradenton and my friends that are at Florida Atlantic. Go Owls! |
