Anchor and Producer

I am very grateful for the chance to start my journalism career in Minot, for a number of reasons.

KMOT-TV gave me the chance to start my career as a general assignments reporter in the fall of 2002, and since then I’ve continued to grow into my current position as anchor and producer for the evening and night reports.

Being in Minot also gave me a chance to meet my lovely wife, Katherine, and start a family. Our daughter, Madison, is the reason I wake up every day – sometimes earlier than I really want to be awake!

I decided to become a journalist as a sophomore at Brigham Young University. It was a few years later, as a senior, when the World Trade Center Towers were attacked by terrorists. I was sitting in front a TV, preparing for the daily morning show we produced as students, and couldn’t believe what I was watching. It was that moment that pushed me to want to excel as a journalist.

In the past few years I’ve covered everything from a groundbreaking eye replacement surgery to economic development and the impact of a new Wal-Mart Supercenter in the Magic City. I love the chance I’ve been given to tell the stories that matter to our viewers and do so with passion and a goofy grin!

I’m proud to be an active member of the community – participating in events like “Salute to Seniors” and “Relay for Life”. I’m also the President of the Community Relations Council at the Burdick Job Corps.
