| With the possibility of floods in the Minot area the American Red Cross is ready to lend a helping hand. The call center opened Wednesday to assist anyone who might have questions about where they can volunteer to fill sandbags and where sandbags can be picked up. The American Red Cross is providing food for those helping out with flood preventative measures. "If anyone is expecting to evacuate or thinking they`re going to have to leave their homes they should be prepared. They should have their bags packed, their medications ready and things like that," says American Red Cross Director of Emergency Megan Kruger. Residents looking to assist in filling sandbags or in need of some can contact the American Red Cross at 858-9366. |
