The Red Cross has opened a shelter to help those displaced by flooding.
The Organization received a few phone calls from the Logan areas and information from Burlington. Minot State University has made an area available at the Dome for the Red Cross to use as a shelter. People will receive cots, blankets and food.
"The shelter is very important because they don`t have a place to stay. For most who don`t have a place to stay with family members, we are here to help out and so is MSU," says Alan McGeough, the Executive Director of the Mid-Dakota Chapter of the American Red Cross.
Those who need shelter can go to the South Entrance of the Dome to register. Residents will have to find another place to keep pets while they are in the shelter as animals are not allowed.
