The same river that`s causing evacuations in Valley City is now causing problems in Harvey. The city noticed that the Sheyenne River that flows through the city`s park started to rise quickly and back up. That`s when they decided to call in help and build a dike.
"We talked to a guy from the corp of engineers, and he said we needed to build a dike right away. So Wednesday morning we started to build a dike down by Centennial park to keep water from flooding in that area," says Jason Grossman, Harvey Mayor.
Another major concern is Coal Mine Lake. It could cause a lot of problems if it overflows into the city.
