Some roads in McHenry County are still under water and the damage is getting worse. Upham residents are finding it difficult to get around town.
Road closures are making what may normally be a 3-minute drive into town a 30-minute commute.
Water from the Souris River is still rising making it difficult for roads to be repaired.
"The roads are all mostly under water. Its pretty much of a challenge to get around to get anywhere from east to west. Hopefully the water starts going down soon," says Brian Erdman, McHenry County Commissioner
Damages are possibly the worst the town has ever seen.
"Some of them we can`t even tell. There`s so much water over them already so we don`t even know how much damage is really there yet," says Erdman.
The Fire Department has trucks on both sides of County Road 17 for any emergency situation that may arise. |
