The Army Corps of Engineers says the Jamestown Dam reservoir may be reaching its crest.
Corps water control chief Tim Temeyer says Monday was the first day the flow from the James River at Kensal, which is considered the headwaters, was less than the outflow at the dam.
Temeyer says the corps plans to continue releasing water from the Jamestown and Pipestem dams north of the city of Jamestown to make room in the reservoirs.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency has opened a center in Jamestown for flood victims to apply for aid. |
