The National Weather Service says moderate flooding is now occurring along the Wild Rice River at Abercrombie in southeastern North Dakota.
The initial forecast was for minor flooding after storms Tuesday that dropped as much as 8 inches of rain in the area.
The river at Abercrombie is expected to fall below flood stage Saturday afternoon.
The weather service also has extended a flood warning for Fargo until next Wednesday. The Red River is expected to rise to 23.3 feet by Saturday afternoon, more than 5 feet above flood stage, though only minor flooding is forecast. The river should fall below flood stage by Tuesday. |
