Chain saws have been heard in the town of Wyndmere, in southeastern North Dakota, after a night of rain, hail and wind.
The wind that came through Thursday caused even large trees to tumble.
Resident Alice Rowland says she was watching TV and heard a loud noise, then saw a "tree in the window that didn`t belong there."
The towns of Barney and Mooreton also had tree damage, and bleachers at a baseball field in Mooreton were blown into a fence.
In other parts of the region, baseball-size hail was reported near Galchutt, and high winds blew an empty semitrailer off Interstate 29 near Wahpeton. The driver was not hurt, and no other injuries have been reported in the region. |
