Recreational activities such as playing in the park, baseball and fishing are activities most people enjoy taking part in, but not everyone.
The North Dakota Developmental Disabilities Network is holding the fourth of eight summits on June 25th at the Grand International Inn.
It can sometimes be difficult for someone with a disability to feel comfortable participating in activities with others do not have any disabilities.
The group wants to help identify and develop a plan to assist those with disabilities in feeling more comfortable taking part in recreational activities.
"The summit is really going to be about getting folks together from the recreation and wellness world and the disability world to talk about what are some issues and barriers and how might we go about solving those so that people with disabilities are included," says Brent Askvig the Executive Director of the North Dakota Center for Persons with Disabilities.
The summit is open to the public and free. |
