There`s a lot of activity going on, on Main Street in Garrison. On New Years Day, the building which holds the McLean County Independent, Vikings Screen Print and Ash Clay Ben collapsed. The building has undergone a renovation to fix the damage and recently it has been completed. The whole front of the building has been replaced. McLean County Independent has been around since 1963 publishing a weekly paper. Ash Clay Ben is a new clothing store in town which features clothes for kids and adults.
Across the street, you will find Home Town Tavern is under new ownership. Sharon Jungley has been a bartender at the bar for twenty years and became full owner in September. Jungley says that the business specializes in good, friendly customer service. It offers a full bar and bottle shop. Home Town Tavern is open seven days a week.
Moving just around the corner, you will find a few changes at Garrison Lanes. The six lane bowling alley has recently been remodeled, thanks to new owners Nancy and Kyle Liedholm. The alley has new ceilings, new flooring and features extreme bowling on Friday and Saturday nights.
