More than $190,000 in stimulus funding is being channeled towards improving Richland County`s transportation services.
Part of the funding will go towards a new bus, which will seat 13 passengers and provide room for two wheelchairs. This money will also allow the service to build bus shelters in busy areas to protect riders from harsh weather conditions.
In addition to those changes, the RCTS also plans to offer new monthly passes for regular riders. Even though bus fares are going up, the RCTS hopes that these passes will help offset those costs.
The Transportation service is one of only a few agencies in Montana to receive funding to build new facilities and a vehicle during the next year.
