Trial Set for Man Shot by SWAT
7/14/2009
An Oct. 13 trial has been set for a man shot in the shoulder by a SWAT team member during an 8 1/2 hour standoff at his home in Hebron.

George Fischer has pleaded not guilty to charges of assault on a peace officer and terrorizing.

Authorities say the March 4 standoff began after Fischer, 53, threatened a city employee who came to tell him his water service might be disconnected because of an unpaid bill.

State officials ruled the shooting of Fischer by SWAT team member Michael Bolme was justified.

Fischer is being held in the Morton County jail on $100,000 bond.
