A man has pleaded not guilty to an aggravated assault charge stemming from a golf course argument.
Donald Sauvageau, 57, is accused of hitting another man in the head with a golf club at Fargo`s Rose Creek Golf Course over the weekend.
Police say Sauvageau was arrested Sunday afternoon. The 55-year-old victim, of Mapleton, has not been identified, but authorities say he needed stitches.
Sauvageau allegedly told police he was upset that the other man had hit balls into his group and tried to hit the man on the shoulder with his sand wedge, but missed and struck the man on the side of the head.
Court officials say Sauvageau is free $2,500 cash bail after his court appearance this morning. Judge Steven Marquart set his preliminary hearing for Sept. 3.
Fargo Park DistrictDirector Roger Gress says Sauvageau has been banned from the golf course. Gress says he got a call from a staff member who just happened to be on the scene and was very upset at what he saw. |
