Slope County is at the bottom when it comes to population, but a new report says it tops the state`s counties when it comes to average annual wages. The summer report from Job Service North Dakota says Slope ranked first in the state last year with an average annual wage of over $53,000. Oliver County, in coal country, was second at more than $50,000.
The statewide average annual wage last year was just over $35,000, up about $2,000 from a year ago.
