Basin United Way kicked off their fund-raising period this afternoon with a festive drive-thru lunch.
The meal was $6, with half of the proceeds going back to United Way. Volunteers were decked in fun Mardi Gras beads and accessories. Organizers say United Way will fund 32 different agencies this year, all benefiting local programs.
"It`s all agencies in our three county region which is Divide County, Williams County, and McKenzie County. And there`s different agencies, such as the Williston Community Builders, the Hockey Club, just all sorts of different, smaller agencies in town," says Heidi Monson, the Basin United Way co-chair.
United Way will continue to fundraise into late November. They will have a Pennies for Change collection drive and will also start delivering donation packets to area businesses as part of their fundraising effort.
