Students Run Halloween Store
10/12/2009
Business students at the University of Mary are taking the classroom into the real world, to supply you with a treat this Halloween.

This new Halloween Store is at 114 North 5th in Bismarck, and it is completely student run.

It is called, Fiancee Boo-tique.

The business organization, Delta Epsilon Chi, is offering unique costumes as well as accessories and make-up.

This gives the students a learning opportunity that normally, they wouldn`t be able to get.

"It`s a fantastic opportunity for us to expand our knowledge and to actually apply the knowledge that we get in the classroom, as well as prepare us for competition events for Delta Epsilon Chi," says executive director of Delta Epsiolon Chi Carmen Dahl.

"Students have to get that real world experience so they`re able to network with other people, they`re able to understand what customer service is, they`re able to find out a little bit about these individuals in the community so they`re not just up on the hill learning," says Karel Sovak, the advisor for Delta Epsilon Chi.

This is also a fundraiser for Delta Epsilon Chi, to help get them to their competitions.

The store opens to the public Wednesday.

It will be open 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays, and 10:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekends.
