| Snowy, Icy Roads in North Dakota Contribute to Fatalities Near Stanley, Streeter

An early shot of winter in North Dakota has contributed to at least three fatalities.
The Highway Patrol says a father and son from Mission, Texas, who were working in the oil field died yesterday after their pickup truck rolled in the ditch on icy U.S. Highway 2 near Stanley.
Felipe Escojido, 30, a passenger
in the truck, died at the scene. The driver, Juan Escojido, 57, died at the hospital in Stanley.
In Stutsman County, a car collided with a pickup on a road covered with slush and snow near Streeter, killing the car`s driver. The name of the 48-year-old woman was not immediately released.
Authorities say the pickup driver and a 2-year-old boy in the car were injured.
The patrol this morning reported dozens of vehicles in the ditch on Interstate 94 in the Valley City area, which got about five inches of wet, heavy snow. |
