The North Dakota Highway Patrol says one person is dead and two young children have been taken to a hospital after a crash near Maddock.
A news release says the three, all from Maddock, were headed toward Devils Lake in a sport utility vehicle around 11:15 a.m. Tuesday. The patrol says the driver was traveling too fast for the muddy and slippery conditions and lost control on the gravel road.
The patrol says the vehicle rolled after striking a field approach. The vehicle landed back on its wheels, but the driver was ejected. That person wasn`t wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two children, ages 3 and 1, were taken to a Rugby medical center and later taken to a Minot hospital. They were in car seats at the time of the crash. |
