ND Man Gets 19 Years for Drunken Driving Crash
10/28/2009
Federal prosecutors say a man has been sentenced to 19 years and three months in prison for a drunken driving crash that killed three people near New Town last year.

Randolph Lone Fight, of Mandaree, was charged with involuntary manslaughter after the October 2008 crash on state Highway 23 in McKenzie County.

Authorities said Lone Fight, 57, was drunk when the van he was driving sped past a slower vehicle in a no-passing zone and collided head-on with a car.

The crash killed all three people in the car. They were identified as the driver, Lynae Crowe, 17, and her
6-month-old child, Jayden, of Mandaree, and Dorene Standish, 47, of Killdeer. Authorities said Lone Fight and two passengers in his van were injured.

Federal Judge Daniel Hovland said Lone Fight had a drunken driving conviction in tribal court three weeks before the crash and continued to drink after taking part 17 or 18 treatment programs.
