After the news conference that was held this morning, we spoke with the father of Kyrston Gemar. He was the only relative that wanted to speak out at this time and here`s what he had to say.
"I think I`m still in the shock phase," he says.
After the news conference this morning, Lenny Gemar spoke out about his missing 22-year old daughter Kyrstin.
"It`s really tough, especially not knowing that`s the hardest part, you know."
Lenny said he received a call yesterday morning from Dickinson State University alerting him about the situation. He immediately jumped on a plane in Seattle, his wife boarded a plane in San Diego, and they landed in Dickinson just after 10 p.m. last night.
"When you say this, meaning they disappeared, yes it wasn`t very uncommon for her and her friends in the evening to do the star gazing thing, they were talking about, or just go out, hang out, and talk, like teenagers, or 20 something people do that," Lenny says.
He says his wife last talked with Kyrstin on Saturday evening. He said she seemed in good spirits and nothing seemed wrong.
"What isn`t typical is there was an issue, and the difficult part for me is not knowing what that issue might have been, now all we can do is wait and see," he says.
He says he speaks for all the parents when he says he has complete faith in the police department.
"I have all the faith in them hopefully going out to find those girls alive and fine and that`s what we`re hoping for."
He says faith is all he can have at this point. |
