Well Mannored Bandit | Video
11/5/2009
He walks into banks and makes a withdrawal.

The problem is he doesn`t actually have any money to take.

Detectives in Palm Beach County, Florida refer to him as the "Withdrawal Bandit."

They say he has robbed close to a dozen banks in Palm Beach County and one in Fort Myers in less than six months, and he does it all with a piece of paper.

Tuesday investigators released a sketch of the man who has eluded them for months.

He`s suspected of robbing the banks, not with a gun, a knife or even a threat.

He simply uses a withdrawal slip.

"He walks up to the teller, takes a withdrawal slip, doesn`t write anything on it, says he wants to make a withdrawal," says Lt. Michael Wingate with the Palm Beach County Sheriff`s Office.

The slippery suspect doesn`t even raise his voice when he asks for cash as one teller discovered.

"She said `I don`t have that denomination.` He repeated himself and says `no dye pack.` Once he made that statement she realized she was being robbed," said Frank Bray with the Palm Beach County Sheriff`s Office.

Tuesday authorities from several Palm Beach County law enforcement agencies made a united stand and asked for the community`s help.

"By this time he`s getting comfortable with his actions...he knows what he wants," said Lantana Police Sgt. Sean Scheller.

Surveillance pictures reveal the `withdrawal bandit` occasionally changes his appearance.

One time he has blonde hair, the next time brown.

Sometimes he wears a hat, sometimes he doesn`t.

"In many occasions he has a white or silver SUV, he even drove off on a rented U-Haul vehicle," said Lt. Wingate.

Although the bandit is on a roll, his pursuers are waiting for him to slip up just once.
