Marketplace foods. This is where our story begins, the home of the local Stuff-a-Truck project.
"We go to 14 local public schools, gather up foods and give it to needy families for the holidays," says Nancy Latendesse, Marketplace Foods.
Marketplace has been hosting the event for more than ten years and say they have always been pretty successful.
"One classroom of 20 kids may gather around 30 to 40 items," says Latendesse.
But this years drive is different.
"We had one unique little lady," says Latendesse.
And that`s what brings us to Mrs. Beck’s 6th grade class at Ramstad Middle School.
And that unique little lady is April Norsby.
"She`s really nice and friendly," says Natalie Couture, student.
When Mrs. Beck explained the Stuff-a-Truck project to the class, April decided to do something no other student has done before.
"I went door to door asking neighbors for food for the needy," says Norsby.
After her stroll around the neighborhood, she ended up with more than 250 items.
