Dozens of new wind towers are turning in Wilton.
The Wilton Wind Energy Center is twice as big, after 33 new wind turbines went into operation last month.
The center can now produce 99 megawatts of electricity.
That`s enough to serve the needs of about 30,000 homes.
All of the energy produced at the Wilton center is purchased by Basin Electric.
The electric co-op says it`s excited to add more electricity from renewable resources.
"North Dakota is the number one wind resource state in the nation and with that resource, this gives us the ability to add this into our portfolio so when we produce electricity for our member system, we`re producing it from a number of sources," says Daryl HIll, of Basin Electric.
Basin Electric is working on another wind project near Minot.
It plans to have that one in operation by the end of the year.
