One of North Dakota`s largest rock festivals will be stationed at a different location this year.
Bottineau has been the home to Rockin’ the Hills, but this year, the three day event will be moved to Sawyer and renamed “Thunder Mountain Rockfest.” Tuesday afternoon, the general manager of the event, worked on getting the stage area finished before the winter arrives. Thunder Mountain Rockfest is hoping to bring in over 4000 people a day to see various performances. The event organizers felt that being closer to Minot, would attract more people.
"Minot has options like the airport, more hotels, more dining options, things that will attract people. Bottineau doesn`t have that," says Kent Fladeboe, General Manager, Thunder Mountain Rockfest.
The rockfest will take place on July 7th, 8th, and 9th, 2010. On Friday, event organizers will be holding a Black Friday Rockfest Party at the Sleep Inn. They will be giving out door prizes such as free tickets to this years event.
