| The University of Mary has been celebrating its 50th anniversary all year, and now a look at how it all began is available in a new book. `Learning to Lead, University of Mary 1959 TO 2009` is now available. Photos, firsthand accounts, and recollections of alumni and administrators all help tell the story of the university. The book was written and compiled by former U Mary faculty member, Sister Mary Elizabeth. She spent three years on this project, not only to tell the history of the campus, but describe the spirit that makes University of Mary, what it is today. "Sister Elizabeth did a very good job of capturing the dream of the sisters and then let`s that dream unfold in the true experience of students, faculty, and staff who have been the heart of the story of University of Mary," says Sister Thomas Welder, the former president of the University of Mary. The book is available at the university book store. |
