With over 60 accidents happening on Tuesday, Minot police we`re busy. So Wednesday you might expect car repair shops to be as well, but they`re still waiting for the crowds.
"Were always anticipating a boom in business," says Jim Rostad at Minot`s Finest Collision Center.
But the boom hasn`t come quite yet. Rostad says is takes a few days for people to bring their cars in after an accident.
Insurance Agent Tina Olsen says within a few days the insurance claims will start piling up.
"We`ll see a day or two later the claims will come in because people have to process what happened and and if they`re kids they have to get the courage to tell mom and dad, those types of thing," says Olsen.
But Olson recommends you file your claim as soon as the accident happens so that it is fresh in your mind.
Rostad says that within the next few weeks the shop will become booked, so get your car in early, or you`ll be waiting a lot longer than you want to. Many repair shops even have a drive through estimating bays to help reduce the wait. But the very best way to avoid the long lines at the body shop is to slow down and drive safely.
