Williston Ranks 1st in State for Workers` Wages
Marie Arceo
12/13/2009
A new statewide report ranks Williston highest for workers` wages among North Dakota communities.

The Job Service North Dakota report puts the city`s average annual wage at $49,567.

Coming in second was Beulah/Hazen, at $47,954.

Last year, the communities held the top spot.

Rounding out the top five were Fargo, Bismarck/Mandan and Wahpeton.

The ranking is good news for Williston, which held the fifth spot five years ago with $28,987.

Tanya Vachel in Job Service`s Williston office says the city`s increase in wages is driven by demanding jobs in the oil industry.
