Dickinson State University has received permission to allow sales of beer, wine and liquor at some events in the school`s new Badlands Activities Center. North Dakota`s Board of Higher Education approved the request Thursday. Board policy now restricts alcohol sales on college property. There are exceptions for some commercial businesses and the Ralph Engelstad Arena at the University of North Dakota.
The center is being built to replace Whitney Stadium. It will be used for football and track and include community space for receptions, banquets and trade shows. Dickinson State says alcohol sales would be permitted at some events, and drinking would be allowed only at specified locations.
