Gov. John Hoeven and North Dakota National Guard commander David Sprynczynatyk are visiting a contingent of North Dakota soldiers in Kosovo this week.
The 620 soldiers are part of a multinational force of about 2,200 troops. They`re commanded by North Dakota National Guard Brig. Gen. Alan Dohrmann. The force includes soldiers from five other countries.
The North Dakota soldiers are serving in Kosovo as part of a yearlong peacekeeping mission. A Guard spokesman, Lt. Col. Rick Smith, says the deployment is half over. Smith says Hoeven and Sprynczynatyk will return home early next week. The two are holding a video news conference on Friday. |
