Storm Damage Survey Planned in 3 ND Counties

Associated Press | 7/18/2011

The National Weather Service plans a storm damage survey Monday in the southeastern North Dakota counties of Stutsman, LaMoure and Dickey.

Officials say numerous tornado warnings were issued for parts of those counties Sunday night. A tornado touchdown also was reported in Griggs County.

Victor and Beverly Weigel tell KFGO radio that every building on their LaMoure County farmstead near Berlin including their home was leveled, and some livestock were badly injured and had to be killed.

County Emergency Manager Kimberly Robbins tells the radio station that six other farms in the area were damaged. One homeowner needed stitches after being hit with flying debris.
