Hoeven Discusses Pipeline During National Address | Video

Brian Howell | 1/16/2012

Sen. John Hoeven shared his concerns about a proposed pipeline with the nation this weekend. Hoeven delivered the weekly Republican radio address where he discussed the Keystone XL pipeline project and why he thought it`s important for President Obama to approve it within the 60 day time frame prescribed by Congress.

Hoeven says that Congress has addressed all concerns about the pipeline and it will help grow the national economy. "The focus of the national message was, hey, we`ve got to create the environment that stimulates private investment, and a great example is the Keystone XL pipeline. Right now, regulation is preventing, at the national level, is preventing investment."

Proponents say Canadian oil would go to markets in China instead of America if the project is not approved.
