Alexander Gorney | 6/17/2012

Some dads took their families to check out the Railroad Museum in Mandan this Father`s Day. There are several new exhibits featured at the museum, including a wooden box car from 1937.

Visitors could look through the glass at a model town and train display. Kids and their dads could also ride on the skyline railway, a small train that operates like a large scale engines.

"This is one and one twelfth scale live steam locomotive that burns coal, boils water to make steam,” said train engineer, Ed Duke. “We have here at the museum just under 400 feet if track. It’s fun for the fathers.”

The museum was open from 1:00 to 5:00 that afternoon and admission was free.
