Second Day of Beulah Shooting Trial | Video

Retha Colclasure | 6/26/2012

One of two men accused of conspiring to kill two brothers in a January shooting in Beulah told police he never intended for anyone to get hurt. Richard Whitman and Cody Borner are charged in the shooting death of Michael Padilla, and for trying to kill his brother, Timothy.

Prosecutors called several police officers and the state medical examiner to the stand today. Their last witness read parts of a transcript of an interview with Richard Whitman that took place hours after the shooting.

The State Medical Examiner identified two shots that both would have been fatal to Michael Padilla.

Both came from a .22 caliber pistol at close range.
