Man Arrested for Fleeing Minot Police

A man is in custody after he fled Minot police early this morning. Shortly after midnight, Minot police attempted to stop a black 2008 Volkswagen for speeding. The vehicle didn`t stop and continued travelling at a high rate of speed on South Broadway.

The vehicle eventually pulled into the Scandinavian Heritage Park, where the driver fled on foot.

Police located a male that matched the description of the driver a short distance from the stop and arrested him.

The man, identified as Tommy Britt, 24, from Anchorage, Alaska, was charged with Fleeing Police in a Motor Vehicle, a class A-Misdemeanor and Reckless Driving, a class B-Misdemeanor.
