Help For Wyoming Ranchers | Video

Jessica Roose | 6/27/2012

It`s been a good year for ranchers in North Dakota, but that`s not true for everyone. Ranchers in Wyoming have been dealing with a severe drought in the eastern portion of the state and they are looking to North Dakota for help.

North Dakota Ag Commissioner Doug Goehring said he was asked by the Director of Agriculture in Wyoming about the possibility of moving cattle to North Dakota.

"This is for cow-calf pairs. We don`t allow open cows to come into North Dakota and if you`re going to be moving any bulls in with them they also have to have a trich test. So once people are aware what the situation is they have to determine if it works for them."

Producers who are interested in providing land to rent should call the Wyoming Department of Agriculture at 307-777-7321.
