Train and Semi Accident | Video

Jenny Castro | 6/28/2012

A train collided Thursday morning with a semi along Highway 52 west, just two miles east of Burlington. There were no fatalities in the accident and no hazardous materials were spilled.

The semi was heading south towards towards Highway 52 and did not hear or see the train, which was traveling west. The train hit the trailer behind the semi and knocked the vehicle into the ditch.

"They don`t have signs right here or anything to tell you a train`s coming and so he started to pull across the tracks and we saw that the train was going to hit his truck. The train just hit his trailer about midway through it, luckily it was empty,” said eye witness, Doug Brady.

This is the second accident that has happened at this intersection.
