Annual Holiday Light Display Coming Back | Video

Amy Fox | 6/28/2012

Last year, Oak Park had to cancel their annual holiday light display after the flood damaged all of their Christmas lights. But, members of Minot`s Sertoma Club are already working hard to bring one of the city`s favorite holiday traditions back to life.

It`s taken over a year for the bulbs to light up again after the flood completely destroyed all of the lights and electrical outlets. The display frames only suffered minor damages.

As Secretary of Minot’s Sertoma Club Neil Scharp explains, club members are already looking forward to this year`s display. "All of our displays were sitting here. There was 10 feet of water, and now we`re at a point where we need to take those, rebuild them all, take the lights off, put them back on, and get ready for this November."

New light bulbs are being installed and new electrical outlets were installed last week.

The holiday light display in Oak Park opens the Friday after Thanksgiving. The cost is five dollars per vehicle.
