Kristin Clouston | 7/3/2012

A Bismarck retirement community figured out how to beat the heat, residents held their Independence Day celebration indoors. The party at Touchmark on West Century featured indoor fireworks, a children`s bike parade, live polka music by Pius Koch and friends, a little dancing, a few puppies, an ice cream social and a cherry pit spitting contest.

"It`s very nice. I`ve been here about a year and they have very special entertainment for us. The bicycles I liked," said resident June Kline.

Touchmark on West Century features a wide range of homes and lifestyle options for those 55 and older. For more information visit www.touchmark.com.
