Pro Disc Golfers Return to Sibley | Video

Alexander Gorney | 7/8/2012

Some of North Dakota`s best disc golfers were at Sibley this afternoon in the first professional tournament held at the park since the flooding last year. Nearly 20 golfers had their discs out for the 2012 After the Flood Open Tournament.

The golfers played two 18 hole rounds, with the winner taking home around $200.

"The last tournament was last May here," said Tournament Coordinator Nathan Hamkens. "We had state doubles here, then it went underwater and we lost it. I didn`t think we`d get it back and so we got it back and it’s in pretty decent shape."

Because of last year’s flooding, a few holes were modified for this morning`s tournament.

The tournament was sponsored by Stomper Enterprises and the Sibley Disc Golf League. The cost to enter was $50.
