No Major Issues Found in Water Quality Screenings | Video

Amy Fox | 7/18/2012

If you`ve ever wondered about the quality of your water, septic, well, or irrigation system, there are ways to make sure your water is safe.
The North Central Research Extension Center in Minot offered free water quality screenings today.

The two-three minute screening included testing for nitrates, ph levels, total dissolved solids, and hardness.

While the research center reports data from today`s screenings, Agricultural Engineer Thom Scherer said it`s still a good idea to test your water.
"If it`s fine water, well, that`s kinda peace of mind for people. But, the other thing is with all the oil activity going on in the area, it kinda give you a baseline of some idea of what the water at this point and sometime in the future it changes and it doesn`t taste good and you have it tested, something is different from your previous test, then it might be due to some activity going on around them."

If you missed today`s program, the Williston Research Extension Center is screening water on July 24.
