Fort Berthold Death Under Investigation | Video

Federal investigators are looking into a death on the Fort Berthold Reservation. The body of Jeremiah Sage, 30, was found on Thursday near the marina in New Town.

Investigators haven`t released any specifics about the case, but news of the death has spread throughout the area.

"From what I heard he was driving and picked up a hitch hiker, and then I heard they slit his throat, drove him down there by the marina and lit his car on fire, and then the police found him a couple days later," New Town resident, Christine Miller said.

Sage was originally from Halliday and had served as a U.S. Marine.

His family has been cooperating with investigators.
