The Department of Transportation says it`s getting busier all the time. More people and more drivers in the state means more work for the department of motor vehicles.

Employees say it`s not just busier in western North Dakota.

"Since last year, we`ve had an increase of 12,661 license drivers in the state so that`s a two and a half percent increase in one year which actually puts us over half a million license drivers in North Dakota," said Drivers License Division Director Glenn Jackson.

The DOT says it expects to issue an even higher number of drivers licenses in the coming years.
