Last July One of the Warmest and Driest on Record

The National Weather Service reports that last month ranked as one of the top 10 warmest and driest Julys on record for western and central North Dakota.

In Bismarck, the average temperature for July was about 76 degrees, which is the sixth highest on record. Bismarck also got a total of 2.62 inches of rain during the month, which is only 0.24 inches below average.

However in Minot, the average temperature for last month was about 75 degrees, which was the second warmest July on record. They also had the 10th driest July on record with only 0.67 inches of precipitation.

The NWS says that these factors have led to moderate to severe drought conditions in western and central North Dakota.
