New College Student Health Plan | Video

Amy Fox | 8/6/2012

College students all across North Dakota have a new program to help pay for medical expenses this school year.

Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota is introducing Student Blue, a college health plan.

The program assists college students without health care insurance.

Insurance plans for singles start at $62.50. Single parent, two-party, and full family policies are also available.

"You`re going to receive coverage for 100% on all of our physicals, any screenings you may need,” said Jessica Olson, Blue Cross Blue Shield Account Executive. Anything that is medically necessary is going to be covered at a very minimal deductible and an out of pocket co-insurance."

To qualify for the program, you must be an undergraduate student enrolled in at least seven credits per semester or a graduate student enrolled in at least three credits per semester at a North Dakota university system college or university and be under the age of 65.

For more information about the new insurance program, go to: studentbluend.com, or visit any Blue Cross Blue Shield Office in North Dakota.
