Oil and Gas Safety Pilot Program

OSHA has approved a new oil and gas safety pilot program for North Dakota. The new Hazard Recognition and Standards Course course will be taught at the NDSC in Bismarck on August 20-24.

According to OSHA, there have been 47 worker deaths in North Dakota since 2010. Of those fatalities, 22 were related to the oil and gas industry. They add that injury claims filed to North Dakota Workforce Safety and Insurance has increased by 12 percent since 2010.
