Burglar Caught In Ruthville | Video

Jenny Castro | 8/7/2012

The Ward County Sheriff`s department arrested a man for burglary early Sunday morning in Ruthville, just north of Minot. Thomas Bott, 25, of Norwich was arrested and is now facing two charges of burglary.

Authorities arrived at the Ruthville Bar shortly after the alarm activated. The front door glass window was broken and while checking the building, Bott ran outside and into a field across the highway.

A K-9 unit was requested and the dog located Bott laying about 100 yards into the wheat field. The Sheriff`s Department says they`re still looking for a possible accomplice.

"There was a pickup truck seen in the area and information was gathered subsequently that led us to believe that that subject was a co-conspirator in this or a lookout for the accused burglar and the Ward County Sheriff`s department currently holds a warrant for that individual," said Captain Robert Barnard.

Oscar Monroe Keller Junior, 25, of Minot is believed to be involved with the burglary and has a warrant for his arrest.

Bott`s second burglary charge is from a July burglary in Sawyer. After interviewing Bott, the Sheriff`s Department learned that he was also tied to this incident.

If you have any information about the other suspect, Oscar Keller, please contact the Ward County Sheriff`s department at 701-857-6500.
