Early Morning Chase in Fargo

| 8/8/2012

A Fargo man is in custody after being chased by the North Dakota Highway Patrol early this morning. Shortly after 4:00 a.m., the Highway Patrol located a vehicle that had been reported stolen in an armed carjacking a short time earlier. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle at a gas station on 45th St., but the vehicle sped away at speeds of approximately 80-90 mph.

Soon after leaving the gas station, the driver, Emmanuel Galuak, 20, lost control and crashed into a tree, causing the vehicle to roll over and trap Galuak inside.

The Fargo Fire Department freed Galuak and he was treated on the scene for minor cuts and bruises. He refused all other medical treatment.

Galuak was arrested for Reckless Endangerment, Driving Under Suspension and Fleeing a Police Officer. He was transported to the Cass County Jail.

Fargo Police are investigating the crash, Moorhead Police are investigating the carjacking case.
