Chamber Restorations | Video

Jennifer Joas | 8/10/2012

The Legislature reconvenes in January and over the last four months, a company has been fixing up the House and Senate chambers.

They`ve restored all the wood, taking out all the knicks and snags, and also restored the brass.

"The wood, the brass, I mean all of it looks like the first day that we opened for business back in the 30s. I just could not be more happy," said Facility Management Director John Boyle.

The Legislature appropriated a million dollars for the project. Boyle says he`s fortunate to oversee the project, since restorations only take place every few decades.
